Author Topic: Can someone tell me what an "Owldritch" is in the bestiary?  (Read 43 times)

On page 119 of the 4th Edition book's bestiary there is a monster called the "Owldritch".  There's no description of the creature, obviously, but it does have claws to attack with and feathers as armor.  It doesn't have the ability to fly.

Am I safe in assuming this creature is basically an "Owlbear" in Pathfinder/D&D, and they just couldn't use that specific name because of copyright rules?

Yes, it's an owlbear. Just like how a Vile Watcher is really just a Beholder with the serial numbers filed off...
