I am so excited for this game! I haven't bought an RPG in years, but this one is something I have to own! Though I'm torn between buying a book (if you offer it) and printing out the PDF and having it spiral bound for easy reference at the gaming table...

Either way, can't wait to have this in my grubby hands.

Same here. PDFs are so much more portable, but there's still something to be said for dead trees in your hand.

Since DS3.5 English wasn't ever published in dead tree format, so I am used to is as a combo of printouts and Books.

I usually commit myself to both purchasing and printing/using on electronic devices the games that come both ways.

That way creator get's a thank you for the purchase of the book in the form of a royalty, the game gets higher sales numbers (so is distributed further), yet I get to use PDFs and printouts where easier, and books where they're easier.

I also hope to see it put up on places like amazon, RPGNow, drive thru RPG, etc in whatever formats CK eventually decides to go with to get it more english language exposure

Looking at the Italian release of 4.0, it was first released as a paper book before being release as the free PDF version. I'll buy the print version. I'd like to support Christian, of course, and I probably will but that spiral bound book sounds really good to me as a table workhorse.

I usually get my PDFs spiral bound as well... Office Max only charges 3 or 4 bucks....so worth it. I actually prefer that to normally bound books because you can lay them flat on the table - 1 or 2 pages up :)

Slightly more seriously...

Any idea of a timeframe for straightening out the difficulties with release? My Sunday group's coming up on an 'off week' in our rotation, and I'd like to see if I can talk them into a DS one-shot.

Wasn't just a phrase - we don't know too. Asked about a timeframe I would have said Dec 2011 but this thing has to wait. But we are eager as you are and in the background a lot is happeniung at the moment to cut down the time you/we 've to wait. Regardless of how soon the outcome, we will release more of DS4 as time goes by, in a couple of days our next step is planned (if we don't get any news till then).
